Based in Perth, Western Australia, Rachelle graduated in 2013 with a BFA(Hons) from the University of Western Australia. She works from her studio in Perth's south, and works as an Art Instructor, after teaching drawing for two years at UWA, and with Jacksons Drawing Supplies and H.U.Kendall and Co

Her works span from realistic painting to whimsical illustration. In 2013, Rachelle held her first Solo Exhibition Beauty in the Particular in Perth’s CBD. Rachelle's artistic flair has seen her branch out to many different sectors of the art world. From painting and teaching fine arts to illustration and murals, Rachelle's passion for the visual arts is entwined throughout her creative career and persona.

I’d say my style is mostly driven through narratives- depicting stories influenced by personal revelations that take place within my everyday. I’m also really fascinated by past and prevalent ideas of beauty in painting, and the conversation that takes place between a portrait and the viewer. The painting method chiaroscuro has had a large influence over my painting practice, a technique which exaggerates light and shadow within each piece to give a dynamic and striking effect.

In 2014, she was the recipient of a scholarship to The Art Academy, South Australia, working under the guidance of Australian artist Robin Eley. Rachelle has created works for multiple profiles of Perth’s community, such as Member of Bateman Matt Taylor, and local band Bedouin Sea. Rachelle has also created works of other influential WA artists such as Jarrad Seng, Pippa McManus and Andrew Frazer.

In March 2016, Rachelle partnered with Inspired Living Foundation (ILF) to run art workshops and mentor members of the Thalangyi Community in Onslow, Pilbara. In the same year, Rachelle also took part in Awesome Art's Remote Community Artist in Residence 2016 program, working with Hedland Senior Highschool. Rachelle has been part in multiple group shows across the city of Perth, and intends to further her practice in Visual Arts to lift the creative culture and bring greater support to the arts community.

At the beginning of this year, Rachelle reunited with Robin Eley and his wife Rachel in Los Angeles as an Artist in Residence, aiding Robin in preparation for his Solo Exhibition The Binary Project, 2017, at Gallery 101 Exhibit in West Hollywood. Rachelle has recently completed private commission work for West Coast Eagles Player Luke Shuey, Australian Swimwear Designer Amore and Sorvete Bridgette Gale,  Bachelorette Australia contestant Cameron Cranley, and Former Deputy Premier and Current Member for Scarborough Liza Harvey.

Under her tutelage, Rachelle's students have been selected for international programs such as UCLA painting summer schools, and been finalists and winners in the Shaun Tan Young Artist Award 2017 and 2018.

Rachelle is a current board member of the Mandorla Art Award, overseeing the Award’s social media platforms and content.

A huge part of who I am as a person and who I’ve been brought up to be is investing time in people. I love getting to know people and hearing their stories- particularly from those who have vision to impact and inspire others in their community and beyond. I love the ability portraiture gives me to convey their stories, which is why my current focus is developing my skills in portraiture. It’s capturing the likeness and character of a person to reveal glimpses of their journey which inspires me.
